Taxpayer Watchdog Groups Honor Gutknecht9.28.2006 Washington, DC - First District Congressman Gil Gutknecht today announced he was awarded the "Taxpayer Hero Award" from Americans for Tax Reform (ATR) and the "Tax Fighter Award" from the National Tax Limitation Committee (NTLC) for his work during the 109th Congress. ATR and NTLC are two of the foremost taxpayer watchdog groups on Capitol Hill.
"Constituents deserve to know who has worked for taxpayers' interests, and not the special interests," said ATR President Grover Norquist. "Representative Gil Gutknecht is squarely on the side of taxpayers, and Americans for Tax Reform offers thanks and congratulations." "Congressman Gutknecht's votes on tax and spending issues in the 109 th Congress earned him an 'A' grade and the Tax Fighter Award," said NTLC President Lewis K. Uhler. NTLC scores members of Congress based on tax and spending votes. Gutknecht had the most fiscally conservative score in the entire Minnesota delegation.
